Half the fun of a charter day in Turks and Caicos is how little effort it takes. Most private charters in Turks and Caicos leave from Leeward, on the eastern tip of Providenciales, a 5 to 15 minute drive from the hotels of Grace Bay and right on the doorstep of the Caicos Cays.
A few leave from Turtle Cove and Long Bay instead, and some will come and pick you up from the beach. Here’s where each one departs, how to get there, and what to expect when you arrive. Booking works the same on every boat: the listing shows the all-in price and the deposit before you pay, the booking is confirmed within a few hours, nearly always the same day, and the confirmation email carries the exact meeting spot, which is also when any pickup gets arranged. And if you need directions on the day, our concierge team is a WhatsApp message away.
Getting to your charter at a glance
- Closest to the cays: Leeward, home to Blue Haven Marina and Heaving Down Rock Marina. Iguana Island is about 15 minutes away by boat.
- On the central north shore: Turtle Cove Marina, 10 to 15 minutes from Grace Bay hotels.
- Opposite ends: Leeward and Turtle Cove are 15 to 20 minutes apart, so check which one your boat uses before you book a taxi.
- Free shuttle from your resort: the 26ft Regal and the 22ft Sports Cruiser, for central Grace Bay and Long Bay resorts.
- Pickup from the beach: free at select Grace Bay resorts on the two Adventure Boats, and on many other charters for a fee that depends on where you’re staying.
1. Blue Haven Marina, Leeward

Blue Haven Marina, on Marina Road in Leeward, is where more private charters begin than at any other marina. It’s an easy drive from Grace Bay, with parking in the marina lot and a market and restaurants by the marina office if anyone needs a coffee before you set off.
It sits on the Leeward Going Through, the channel between Providenciales and Little Water Cay, so the cays of Princess Alexandra National Park start almost as soon as you clear the dock: Iguana Island is close enough to paddle to.
Each listing tells you exactly where to find your boat, whether that’s the front loading area, a numbered slip inside the gate, the big boat dock or the market by the marina office.
Good to know
Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your start time. If you can’t spot your boat, the marina staff can point you in the right direction.
If you’re running late, contact us using the details in your confirmation as soon as you know, and they’ll tell the crew. Many boats run a morning and an afternoon charter, with the afternoon group booked behind you, so a late start usually comes off your time rather than being added at the end.

2. Turtle Cove Marina

On the north shore, 10 to 15 minutes from the hotels of Grace Bay, Turtle Cove Marina is home to the 35ft Luxury Yacht and several of the larger yachts: the 62ft Lux Yacht, the 51ft Lux Yacht, the 44ft Luxury Catamaran Yacht and the new 51ft Ultra Lux Powercat.
As you drive in, the parking is on the right, along with the spot where a taxi can set you down, and your captain will meet you at the boat’s slip. The listing tells you which one. A handful of restaurants sit right on the water here, handy if you’re early or want dinner after an afternoon charter.
Turtle Cove is the island’s oldest recreational marina, dredged out of a shallow inland pond and cut through to the sea as part of the first tourism development on Providenciales, begun in 1967. Boats leave through that cut onto the north shore, and the run east to the cays is longer than from Leeward, which the captain builds into the day.

3. Heaving Down Rock Marina, Leeward

Also in Leeward, a 5 to 15 minute drive from Grace Bay, Heaving Down Rock Marina (better known locally as Walkin’ Marina) is home to the Adventure Boat and the Adventure Boat XL, and it’s where the jet ski, clear kayak and group tours meet too. It’s also the North Caicos ferry dock, which makes it an easy name to give a taxi driver: follow Leeward Highway to its eastern end, past the old conch farm site, and the paid lot ($10) is beside the pier.
These two make the logistics easy for big groups: round-trip transport from the Grace Bay area can be arranged for $20 a person once your booking is confirmed, and at select Grace Bay resorts the boat can pick you up right from the beach, weather and conditions permitting.

4. South Bank Marina and the private docks
A couple of charters, the 29ft Sports Cruiser and the 30ft Luxury Boat, leave from South Bank Marina on Long Bay Highway, on the south side of the island: about 15 minutes from Grace Bay and 5 from the Long Bay villas, facing the Caicos Banks rather than the north shore. Their crew calls you on the morning of your charter to confirm exactly where to meet.
A few charters leave from private docks in Leeward instead. The 35ft Catamaran, for example, meets you at the International School in Leeward Settlement and walks you down to its dock.
Good to know
If you’re arriving by taxi, ask your driver to take you all the way to the meeting point on your listing, not just to the marina gate.
Driving yourself
Turks and Caicos drives on the left, but most rental cars are American, with the steering wheel on the left too, which takes a morning to stop feeling odd. There are no traffic lights between the hotels and the marinas, only roundabouts: give way to traffic coming from your right, and go round clockwise. Leeward Highway has speed bumps that appear out of nowhere, so allow 20 minutes from Grace Bay to Leeward on a first drive. Blue Haven has a parking lot, Heaving Down Rock a paid one ($10), and at Turtle Cove the parking is on the right as you drive in.
From central Grace Bay, the Leeward marinas are 10 to 15 minutes, Turtle Cove about 10 and South Bank about 15. From the Leeward villas you can be at Blue Haven in 2 to 5.
Taxis in Providenciales aren’t metered and aren’t cheap. Fares follow a government rate table, quoted for two people with each extra passenger paying half, and the table isn’t always kept to, so agree the total for everyone before you set off. For a sense of scale, the shared airport fare to Blue Haven in Leeward is listed at $43 for two in 2026, which makes about $86 for a family of four; from Grace Bay, which is closer, expect less. Book the evening before for a morning start, by phone or through your hotel desk, and allow 20 minutes for the car to arrive.

5. Shuttles and beach pickup
If you’d rather not drive at all, plenty of charters will come to you.
- Free resort shuttle: the 26ft Regal and the 22ft Sports Cruiser pick up from central Grace Bay and Long Bay resorts 15 to 30 minutes before your start time. Resorts at Northwest Point and on South Caicos aren’t included.
- $20 round trip: the two boats at Heaving Down Rock arrange transport from the Grace Bay area for $20 a person, as do the jet ski group tours and the clear kayak and group tours that leave from the same marina.
- Pickup by boat from your beach or villa: many charter boats can collect you from the beach for an extra fee that depends on where you’re staying. On the 30ft Luxury Boat, for example, it’s $150 to $250.
Pickups are arranged after you book, and they always depend on the weather and the sea. Some larger yachts draw too much water to come in close to shore, so their listing will tell you if a pickup can only be requested.
If you’re staying farther out
- Long Bay: the water there is too shallow for a boat pickup, so you drive. South Bank Marina is about 5 minutes away and the Leeward marinas 5 to 10.
- Chalk Sound and Sapodilla Bay: no boat picks up here. It’s a national park, far from every launch, so plan on a taxi: about 15 minutes to Turtle Cove or South Bank, 25 to 30 to Leeward.
- Amanyara and Northwest Point: the free shuttles don’t reach this far, and it’s 25 minutes to Turtle Cove and 30 or more to Leeward by road. A boat pickup may be possible on some of the larger yachts, for a fee, so ask when you book.
- Parrot Cay and North Caicos: the 30ft and 35ft Catamarans can collect guests there for an extra fee, paid on the day. Otherwise you come across to Providenciales and meet the boat at its marina.
- South Caicos: it’s a different island, so no shuttle or boat pickup reaches it.
The least effort of all
If you’d rather not think about the drive, two boats come close to door to door. The Adventure Boat can collect you by boat from select Grace Bay resorts on a calm day, or bring you to Heaving Down Rock for $20 a person round trip, and it’s $2,054 all-in for four hours for up to nine, with sandwiches, fruit, local beer and rum punch, a waterslide and a bathroom. The 26ft’s free shuttle collects you from central Grace Bay and Long Bay resorts 15 to 30 minutes before the start, and it’s $1,827 for four hours for six, with fruit, light snacks and drinks. Each price includes taxes, a deposit secures the boat, you can cancel free up to 24 hours before on the Adventure Boat and 48 on the 26ft, and the booking is confirmed within a few hours, nearly always the same day, with the exact meeting spot in the confirmation email.
