Waterslides, Subwings and wakeboards: the boat charters with water toys

Slide off the top deck into turquoise water, fly a few feet under the surface on a Subwing, or carve a wake behind a boat built to throw one. The banks around Providenciales are calm, warm and shallow, so some of our charters come loaded with toys and every wipeout ends in 80-degree water.

Water toys at a glance

  • Waterslides: two big party boats from Leeward, for groups of up to 25 or up to 70.
  • Subwing: included on our three catamarans, and on three fast boats when you ask at booking.
  • Tubing and wakeboarding: free on request on two fast boats, and a dedicated wake boat adds wakesurfing and wakefoiling with instruction.
  • Can kids join? Slides and bow nets suit all ages; the Subwing is for confident swimmers.
  • Best for: families with kids and teens, and anyone who gets bored on a beach.

Ride a waterslide off the top deck

Best for: kids, birthday groups and big crowds

Two of our private charters come with a waterslide. One is a 35ft catamaran for up to 25 guests, with WiFi and a premium sound system; the other is a double-decker for up to 70 with two slides. Both leave from Leeward, both have a bathroom, and their eight-hour days add a beach BBQ and a conch hunt with fresh ceviche.

Which boat charters in Turks and Caicos have a waterslide?

Those two. For a group under 25, the catamaran is the better buy; past 25, the double-decker comes into its own. On the catamaran, a big inflatable tube can be added for an extra fee, paid on the day.

Fly underwater on a Subwing

Best for: confident swimmers and curious teens

A Subwing is a pair of small wings on a tow rope. The boat pulls you along slowly, and you tilt the wings to dive under the surface, glide, roll and pop back up for air. Done right, it feels like flying just under the sea.

Which charters have a Subwing?

It comes included on the 30ft and 35ft catamarans and the 41ft sailing catamaran, and the 26ft, 28ft and 37ft boats bring one when you ask at booking. The catamarans add bow netting too, a trampoline stretched between the hulls for lying in the sun, and the 41ft carries paddleboards and small underwater scooters.

Tube, wakeboard or wakesurf

Best for: teens and thrill seekers

A tube is the easy one: hold on and bounce across the wake. Wakeboarding takes a little practice, and a few falls are part of the fun. The 28ft and 37ft fast boats bring a tube and a wakeboard at no extra charge when you ask at booking, and the 26ft offers both with advance notice. The 28ft takes up to 6 and the 37ft up to 10, and both are fast boats with bottomless rum punch on board.

Can you go wakesurfing in Turks and Caicos?

Yes. Our watersports charter is a purpose-built wake boat for up to 10, made to throw the best wake you’ll ever ride. Wakesurf, wakefoil, wakeboard or tube, with expert instruction for every level, for anywhere from one to six hours.

Keep the little ones happy

Best for: families with young kids

Not every toy needs a tow rope. Snorkel gear and life jackets come on every private charter we offer, and on the 70ft schooner the gear includes flotation belts for anyone less sure in the water. The catamarans’ bow nets are a favorite too: a trampoline over the sea where kids watch fish slide past below.

What water toys are best for young kids?

The waterslides and a sandbar stop, where the water is warm, clear and often only waist-deep. Save the Subwing and the wakeboard for older kids and strong swimmers, and our non-swimmers guide has more ideas.

Pick the right toy

  • Under 10s: the slides, the bow net and a life jacket at a sandbar.
  • Teens: the Subwing, a tube or a wakeboard.
  • Big groups: the double-decker, with two slides and room for 70.
  • Serious riders: the wake boat, with instruction for every level.

Make a day of it from Provo

All of these boats leave from Leeward, at the east end of Providenciales, so a day of toys starts close to Grace Bay. Pair the toys with a cliff jump at Split Rock, and see our guides to things to do with teens and family boat charters. If you’d like a day of toys with us, pick your private boat charter below.

Questions guests ask us

Which boat charters in Turks and Caicos have a waterslide?
Two of ours: a 35ft catamaran for up to 25 guests and a double-decker for up to 70 with two slides. Both leave from Leeward on Providenciales and both have a bathroom on board.
What is a Subwing?
A pair of small wings on a tow rope. The boat pulls you slowly and you tilt the wings to dive, glide and roll underwater, then come up for air. It suits confident swimmers who are comfortable holding their breath.
Do water toys cost extra on a charter?
Mostly not. The slides come with their boats, the Subwing is included on the catamarans, and tubing and wakeboarding are free on request on the 28ft and 37ft. A tube on the 35ft slide boat is an extra fee paid on the day.
Do I need to book water toys in advance?
Yes, mention them when you book. Tubing, wakeboarding and a Subwing on the fast boats need notice so the captain can bring the gear.
Can you go wakeboarding or wakesurfing in Turks and Caicos?
Yes. Our watersports charter is a purpose-built wake boat for up to 10, with wakesurfing, wakefoiling, wakeboarding and tubing and expert instruction for every level, for one to six hours.
